Gateway Quarter

In case I haven’t mentioned it yet, we’ve been looking at LOTS of apartments lately hoping to move downtown. I’d love to live in an area called the Gateway Quarter. It’s a great mix of your fancy downtown and your hipster-esque local scene. I love the organic shops, the great restaurants and the amazing walkability. Bill loves being able to walk to work for the first time since he left Manhattan.

When we were looking at apartments this week, I decided to channel my inner Gateway Quarter and really liked the hipster-ish vibe of this outfit. Super comfortable, great layers, but I look put together!

Here comes the rain…

We’ve been a mix of beautiful weather and rainy skies around here lately. It makes it a bit difficult to plan outfits so I’ve been layering up so I’m ready for anything! I always love breaking out this little rain jacket every spring.

Traveling again!

I feel like I’ve been on the road so much lately! Most of it has been for fun, but I’m actually heading down to Charlotte for work! In the meantime, I thought I’d show you all a few outfits that somehow missed the blog a few weeks back.

This outfit started as something completely different but probably reflected my tired mood. Once I was dressed and looked in the mirror, I realized I looked like I was going to a super casual funeral, so I added the pink necklace and flats.

Do your outfits reflect your mood? How do you avoid looking tired when you feel it?

Military mix-up

I bought this jacket more than a year ago and fell in love. But then I started to think… What can I wear with this? Do I need to wear something high-waisted since it doesn’t cover my full waist? Do I need to continue with the military theme?

Well, in the past I’ve done most of both. When I decided to wear it this time I wanted to mix it up and make it more of a basic staple in the outfit. It was a great, comfortable outfit for more snow!

A little far away

This photo is a little far away but I wanted to share it because I’ve owned each of these items for so long but have never worn them together. I didn’t join the 30 for 30 but this is definitely a great mix of staples without having to purchase anything to complete my outfit.
