Streamlining my outfit

I didn’t notice as much until I looked at this photo but it’s amazing how rarely my outfits feature simple, straight lines. I’m a girl who loves circle skirts and ruffles so a simple cut on a skirt is such a change for me!

Do you find yourself always wearing one cut over another?

Layer it up

As the weather changes you really never know what to expect from day to day. I’ve been mixing a lot of heavier pieces (like this cardigan) with lighter, Spring items (like these peep toe pumps). That way I’m prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws at me.

How do I not notice my clothes are crooked as I walk out of the house? Clearly, I’m a mess sometimes!

Sweater: Kohls?

Night out with the girls

The other night I went out with just the girls and we had a lot of fun! It was actually warm so I decided to go with a mix of sleeveless and tights!

Fall weather is officially here

The weather is soooo chilly here! I mean it’s usually in the 50s when I leave my house to go to work so I’ve been dressing for that. I’ve been trying not to bring out my coats and jackets too often yet so I’ve been layering it up a lot!

I’ve had this sweater for years (I mean like high school, friends) and somehow it has held up! I really liked how the necklace added something more dramatic to an otherwise so-so fall outfit.

Sweater: Bergner’s

Tank: Aero (yes, I know… they have great length on them!)

Jeans: Ann Taylor LOFT

Booties: Payless (finally broke them out!)

Necklace: White House | Black Market

Layering up for fall

The weather is officially like 10 degrees from freezing overnight, which means when I get up my house is like a refrigerator (we don’t control our heat so it’s not on yet!). I may have gone overkill with the layers yesterday but the cold weather got to me.

Looking back on this outfit, I’m not crazy about all of the black and I think even just wearing leggings instead of full tights would have broken it up a little more. Another way I might try this is by wearing a blazer instead of the undershirt.

Oh well… ideas for next time!

Dress: Max & Cleo

Undershirt: Target

Tights: probably Target

Heels: Martinez Valero (these were my wedding shoes! look familiar?

Necklace: White House | Black Market (what I wore for the rehearsal dinner)
