It’s all in the details

On days when I feel like I have nothing to wear, I usually go down one of two paths. Some days I just give up and go with jeans and a basic cardigan. Other days, I just decide to mix up two seemingly random items and hope they work. On this day, I definitely did the latter. At first, I thought it was a little odd. Then I started to like it. By the end of the day, I had received lots of compliments and I loved it! I think the reason it worked is because I kept my details smaller and paired everything with a basic black dress.

How do you dress when you’re feeling uninspired by your wardrobe?

Rain, rain, go away!

It’s official. We’re on record for the rainiest April since the 30’s. And it’s not stopping anytime soon. Because we’ve been looking at so many apartments (We finally found one and I can’t wait to share it with you!), I’ve had to dress to fend off the weather. This means lots of layers and water-proof boots to keep my feet dry.

How are you dealing with this crazy weather?

Show Me Your Tats

No, I don’t have any tattoos. These leggings are probably the closest I’ll ever get to inky up my body. I’ve always wanted a tattoo but have always had trouble coming up with something that meant so much to me that I wanted it there forever. Then, there’s the issue of where to get it. All of the locations I thought of wouldn’t be so great once I become a mother.

Do you have any fun tattoos that you feel are part of your style?

Just another day

The week before our event in New Orleans I was spending a lot of time in the office. I was trying to go for outfits that were comfortable but still put together so that my clothes looked good, even when I didn’t.

Jail break

While this sweater dress does remind me a bit of a jail jumpsuit, I couldn’t pass up the simplicity of a fantastic wardrobe staple with great basic colors. I decided for the dress’s debut I would go with a basic outfit, but I can’t wait to see what fun I can do with it in the future!

(Also, ignore that crazy tumor coming out of my side… apparently someone doesn’t know how to pull her dress down so she doesn’t have extra fabric hanging out. Hmpf.)

New Haircut!

I finally did it! I went to the salon with a photo and said, “I like this but do whatever you think will look best!”

At first I was unsure. Then I was nervously excited. Now that I’ve lived with it for about 30 hours… I love it! It’s totally different from anything I’ve ever had before and I love how it looks one way in the morning and a bit different after the day is over.

These are some shots from this morning right after I had showered and did my hair. About now it’s much less sleek, with a bit more curl at the ends. I can’t wait to show you more of my hair in outfit photos in the future!

(P.S. I have some photos from the past week I haven’t shown yet so I’ll be featured a few of those with my old hair for a few days!)
