This Little Bag of Mine

This bag makes me so happy. The color pops with anything I wear and it suddenly becomes the star of the show. I swear I could be wearing sweatpants and carrying this bag and people would stop me on the street to compliment my outfit.

Get one. Seriously.

Minty Fresh

Have you seen mint everywhere you look?

I certainly have! And while I’m loving the color, I’ve been nervous to buy too many pieces (like jeans) because as we all know, colors can be something that’s in today and out tomorrow.

That was until I saw this gem of a top at TJ Maxx for only $11!!! The flowiness (is that even a word?) was awesome and the buttons to the top were even better. I knew I had to have it! So here’s my first foray into mint. Thoughts?

Top Knots and Ruffles

You probably have noticed that I’m a bit of a girly girl. Believe it or not, I wasn’t always this into heels and dresses.

As a kid, I was the ultimate tomboy. I lived on a farm until I was ten and I took full advantage! I loved playing in the creek, getting dirty and, even more, getting into trouble. I actually once had a cowboy-themed birthday party full of Pin the Gun on the Sheriff and old Westerns.

Even through all of that, I’ve always had a touch of girl in me. When special holidays came around, I couldn’t wait to pick out a new dress and shoes and get my hair curled. Eventually, that side of me won out. I still like hiking and getting dirty every now and then, but I definitely prefer dressing up any day.

Top knots and ruffles are definitely one way I’ve been showing off my girly side lately. The combination pretty much screams, “I’m a girl and I’m dang proud of it!”

Matchy matchy

I was reading in Lucky Mag the other day about how the idea of matching your accessories is coming back. While they were mostly talking about color, I love the idea of matching prints, fabrics (think of patent and patent!) or something else.

I decided to give it a try with matching my bag to my shoes. I decided to make them stand out by giving them a basic backdrop.

What do you think? Is matching accessories back in or are you more of an eclectic dresser (like me!)?

Pulling it together

If you noticed I’ve been feeling sort of uninspired lately it’s not just your imagination. I feel like I’ve been working a lot, not getting enough sleep, fighting off a cold and in general just wearing down. It’s been hard enough to get out of bed lately, let alone put together an outfit.

I’m trying to pull myself back together, while still fighting those cold temps. Some layers definitely helped me get a good start.

(Pardon the cheesy smile…)

We’ve got snow!

…what better time to bust out my new däv boots! I pretty much wore them the entire time we were in PA over Thanksgiving but forgot my camera and my cell phone charger so I don’t have any photos.

I decided to test out the Equestrian Bit boots and I couldn’t be happier! So many people have asked me where I got them and many of them thought they were real leather until I pointed out that they were waterproof rain/snow boots!
