Fighting The Cold

Is it as cold where you are as it is here in St. Louis? After an amazing November and most of December (I had my windows open as we decorated our Christmas tree!), we’ve finally been welcomed into winter. When it’s 10 degrees outside in the morning, it’s really hard to want to get dressed. Most of my outfit decisions lately have been based on what will keep me the warmest.

This outfit is a great example. I wore lots of layers, warm boots and (not seen) leggings under my jeans. Looking back, I don’t love this outfit but you win some, you lose some.

Striped Spectacle

It’s not very often that I get the chance to snap a photo downtown, even though we live there. Most often my days are spent in the office during most sunlit hours. Last week we got out and went to a few events downtown for the World Choir Games.

I managed to convince Bill to snap this photo in front of the Contemporary Arts Center’s sign for their music video exhibit.

I’m loving the stripes with the background. Maybe I get Bill to snap more ‘out and about’ photos!

Layer it up

As the weather changes you really never know what to expect from day to day. I’ve been mixing a lot of heavier pieces (like this cardigan) with lighter, Spring items (like these peep toe pumps). That way I’m prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws at me.

How do I not notice my clothes are crooked as I walk out of the house? Clearly, I’m a mess sometimes!

Just another day in the office

It must be something in the air because I’ve seen a lot of bloggers lately talking about what they wear when they don’t feel like taking photos. This was definitely one of those outfits. I’ve been feeling less inspired by my closet lately (probably because I need to do a lot of laundry!) so when I saw this outfit on camera, I was less than excited to share it with you. However, this blog is about sharing what I wear and part of that is sharing that sometimes I don’t love my outfit.

What do you wear when you are feeling uninspired?

Sitting, waiting, wishing for Spring

The weather around here has been all over the place lately. One minute it’s 55 and sunny, the next it’s 35 and raining. It makes it hard to dress appropriately, so since I work in an office all day, I decided to go with a Spring look and just grin and bare it. Turns out that maybe wishing can work because it turned out to be a GORGEOUS day!

A pinch of purple

While I love bright colors, sometimes I love making them an accent instead of the main focus of the outfit. This outfit started because I LOVE this purple t-shirt. It fits perfectly and the color is amazing! Once I had the outfit on, I realized this was a great chance to show a pinch of purple in my shoes as well!

Do you have any brightly colored shoes? How to do feature them?
