Party Time

As I start putting away my Christmas decorations and look back on the holidays, they were pretty awesome this year! Yes, we got snowed into my in-laws in Pennsylvania. Yes, my niece poured her silly cup of milk all over me. But we got to spend lots of great times with friends and family alike!

This is an outfit from a holiday party we went to at a friend’s house. I wanted to do a little more than your standard jeans look but I didn’t want to pull out anything too fancy as it was just a house party where we would play games, drink good drinks and eat good food.

Do you see my new little ombre hair? It’s definitely more directly ombre than my last haircut and I love it!

Merry Christmas!

I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas with friends and family! We flew to my in-laws house in Pennsylvania on Friday night in a blizzard. Although the drive from the airport to their house was pretty terrifying, it has made for a wonderful snow-filled Christmas trip so far.

I drug Bill out in the snow for a few photos on Christmas Eve:

Fighting The Cold

Is it as cold where you are as it is here in St. Louis? After an amazing November and most of December (I had my windows open as we decorated our Christmas tree!), we’ve finally been welcomed into winter. When it’s 10 degrees outside in the morning, it’s really hard to want to get dressed. Most of my outfit decisions lately have been based on what will keep me the warmest.

This outfit is a great example. I wore lots of layers, warm boots and (not seen) leggings under my jeans. Looking back, I don’t love this outfit but you win some, you lose some.

Date Night

Part of the big move to St. Louis involved me deciding to continue to work for my amazing agency back in Cincinnati. What does that mean exactly? Well, I go to work most days in a coworking space surrounded by other remote workers, freelancers and small businesses. It’s a really supportive place and the happy hours don’t hurt either!

I work mostly on Eastern time so I’m getting up early than ever, but I get off a bit earlier than I used to!

It also means that I travel back to Cincinnati about every other month or so to be in the office. I’m used to work travel as I am typically booked for at least one trip a month. However, this is a full week in the office, which means a week away from Bill. Yes, that sounds super cheesy but try spending a full week away from your husband and see how you like it!

Well, I finished my week away about a week or so ago and when I got back we were in major need of a date night. We went to a great little fancy BBQ joint (yes, I realize that sounds ridiculous) with good drinks and good food. Just what we needed!

It was a bit chilly that night so I paired this olive green dress with leggings, boots and a pale pink blazer.

One Last Warm Day

It’s hard to believe that we’re already feeling the chill of winter as we wake up each morning. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a huge fan. Once I need to a real coat and gloves to keep my fingers from sticking my steering wheel, I’m over it.

We got really lucky last week with one last warm day. The sun was shining, there wasn’t much of a  breeze and, dare I say it, it was almost hot!

I took the opportunity to enjoy the weather with a sleeveless shirt! Knowing that it was November, I decided I had to ground my outfit in fall a bit with a pair of boots.

Top Knot Power

Sometimes when I’m running late but still want to feel ready for the day ahead, I go with the top knot. I don’t have to fully blow dry my hair, but I still look put together. I’ve been trying out a few different versions. This is more on the ballerina side of the top knot as it’s more structured. Lately I’ve been going with more of a messy version but I still like this.

Have you tried the top knot? How do you wear yours?
