Leather and Lace

One of the easiest ways to add a luxe look to your daily outfit is by mixing and matching patterns and textures. My new favorite match is leather and lace. Lace is so saccharine and sweet while leather adds a bit of edge. Both look more expensive than they really are (note: this skirt is actually pleather – recommended for skirts, not for pants!).

Onward and Upward

Friends, I have really exciting news!

Tomorrow I’m starting a new day job as director of Social Media at Elasticity. This means new clients, new colleagues and much less travel! I’ll be in and around Saint Louis so much more. Bill can’t wait and I can’t either. As always, I’ll continue to try to keep some separation between what I do here and what I do there, but I couldn’t help but share the news with you!

Mint Shirt in Retro Home

The day I wore this outfit the day I went to my first interview. I was waiting to post it until I learned more but now I can share! :)

Lastly, how amazing is this retro home? My friend Oh, Julia Ann! has the most stunning retro apartment. The building itself is very industrial but the minute you walk in, you’re transported to somewhere mid-60s/mid-70s. It’s fantastic! Thanks, Julia, for taking these lovely photos!

This Little Bag of Mine

This bag makes me so happy. The color pops with anything I wear and it suddenly becomes the star of the show. I swear I could be wearing sweatpants and carrying this bag and people would stop me on the street to compliment my outfit.

Get one. Seriously.

Snow-Filled Weekends

Remember when I told you we were warming up here in St. Louis? Well, not more than a week later we got dumped on by 4+ inches of snow and ice. While the city shut down for a few days and I didn’t leave the house, once the sun came out Bill and I ventured out to enjoy the beautiful snow.

Little Black Dress

Dress: Forever 21 | Leggings: We Love Colors | Boots: Forever 21 | Necklace: c/o Savers | Watch: Kate Spade | Belt: Forever 21

We went to lunch at Fitz’s in The Loop and enjoyed ridiculously large root beer floats. I highly recommend stopping there for a treat if you’re ever in the area!

Open Back Dress

I love the open dress of this back. It adds just a bit of interest to a simple, yet beautiful dress.

SaversLocket

Here’s a close up of my locket from Instagram. This little guy was only $2.99!

A Touch of Warmth

Only in St. Louis does the weather change by about 40 degrees in 12 hours. We had a quick warm spell and I couldn’t wait to let my legs out of tights, skinny jeans, etc. for a bit.

To keep from getting chilled, I wore sleeves and boots.

chambray and combat boots

Chambray shirt: Urban Outfitters | Dress: Cynthia Rowley from TJ Maxx | Boots: Forever 21 | Necklace: c/o OASAP

The funny thing about this outfit is that the dress underneath is a very fitted, businessy sheath dress except for the fact that it’s hot pink. Pair with a chambray button-up and combat boots, it looks more like a ridiculous mini skirt.

OASAP

I’m also sort of obsessed with this necklace. I’ve worn it a few times already and expect to see more of it! Plus, it’s only $16!

STL Bloggers Night Out

One of my favorite things about having moved to St. Louis is the amazing network of bloggers that live here. You’ve met several of my fashion blogger friends, but I’ve also met some fantastic food, parenting and craft bloggers as well. These ladies know how to run a successful blog!

Now that I’m back home from a week in Cincinnati, I get to finally update you on my week of fun!

Some of the STL Bloggers group met at the beautiful Ces & Judy’s catering center for dinner, drinks and lots of laughs!

STL Bloggers

I’m obviously on the left but don’t miss these ladies from left to right:

Yokasta at Get U Moving Fitness, Courtney at Journey of a Dreamer, Clare at Fitting It All In, Christina at Homemade Ocean, Katie at Mom’s Little Running Buddy, Jenny at The Jenny Pincher, Ashley at Eat, Run, Live Happy, Karen at Arch City Homes, and Lindsay at Itz Linz

Pour Yourself a Glass

Not going to lie, my first stop when I arrived was the wine station. Check out this super girly and glittery sign! I will definitely have to reuse this idea for a future girl’s night.

Then we enjoyed some delicious food!

Ces & Judy's STL Bloggers

Of course we all took our time taking photos before we ate. We definitely had some self control given how delicious everything looked and tasted!

Ces & Judy's Dessert

Once we ate, it was time for some devine desserts! With so many fitness bloggers at the event, there was more than enough for me! :) This little bar on the left was like a combination of chocolate chip cookie dough and cheesecake. OMG!

Ces & Judy's

We hung out for about three hours joking about the pros and cons of blogging, convincing our partners to go along with us in our shenanigans and even swapped a few blogging tips! It was so much fun!

I even convinced one of the gals to take my photo! :)
