SwayChic: Affordable, Stylish Clothes Just for Girls!

You all know how much I love affordable clothes. When I talk with girls about how they spent $1,500 on a pair of shoes (not kidding, just had this conversation at a dinner Monday night), I want to keel over.

I love high-end designs as much as the next girl but given that one minute I’m obsessing over cheetah rings and the next over hot pink pants, it’s hard to justify spending that kind of money on clothes. I’d much rather buy 30 pairs of $50 shoes!

That’s why I was so excited when I learned about a new online shop called SwayChic. They do a great job of curating the items they feature so you aren’t spending days digging through pages and pages of pants.

SwayChic was originally founded in 2003 in Berkley, California and currently operates eight stores in the state including in the Bay Area and LA. If I ever get over that way, I just might have to stop in! When they decided to take the business online, they wanted to keep that same fun, friendly, creative atmosphere.

I think they’ve done a great job of it!

I was offered the chance to try out their online store and blog about my experience (I got to keep the clothes but I was not paid for this review and the opinions are all mine, baby!).

The online shop is really easy to navigate and I love that they have Under $10, Under $20 and Under $30 sections of the site. If I’ve got the itch to buy something but want to keep the costs to a minimum I can easily do that!

I quickly fell in love with this Sweet Pea Strap Dress that retails at $36.95.

The cut looked great and I loved the muted colors!

I tried out this dress on the Fourth of July to watch fireworks. It was about 100 degrees outside so this breezy dress was the perfect choice to stay cool while still looking stylish!

I love this dress! For reference on sizing, I’m wearing the small and it fits like a glove!

Woops, I didn’t quite plan my footwear so check out my Volcom sandals with my ‘sweet’ Sweet Pea dress.

Showing a little skin in the back! The straps criss cross to keep everything in place.

Dressing Girly

Do you ever have days where you just have to wear something girly? For no reason other than you crave heels and florals? This happens to me. I typically end up with florals, skirts and heels. This was clearly one of those days!

I found this dress at H&M and just had to have it. It’s such a great lightweight material and the print is super pretty!

Look for Less: 50s Polka Dot Dress

Do you ever see a look on someone else or in a magazine and really wish you could replicate that at home? That’s what my new feature ‘Look for Less’ is all about!

First up: Cameron Diaz in a ‘take another look at that stunning skirt and amazing neckline’ dress that is not to be missed!

Cameron Diaz 50s style polka dot dress

I adore this dress and would totally wear it to work daily if I could get away with it. Unfortunately, it’s definitely one of those once every few months type of deals given that everyone (I mean everyone) will take notice.

I found a few affordable versions around the web, including:

Unique Vintage – $64

This dress really has the nipped waist and polka dots down! The only thing it’s missing to complete the look is the full skirt.

ModCloth – $92

While this dress may not have the polka dots, if you want that same 50s glamorous housewife look, this is a perfect match! The purple print updates the look for today.

Would you look to don a dress fit for the 50s? Which of these is your favorite?

A little peek of fun

Although I work in a pretty creative environment, sometimes they require us to get more dressed up when more formal clients are coming in. This was one of those days.

Sometimes it’s easy just to fall into a boring “business dress” outfit, but that’s no fun! I realized I was putting together something lame and decided to wear this flowy zebra-print top underneath to “fun” it up a little!

Every girl needs a great LBD

Bill will be the first to tell you that I own a LOT of dresses. I love dresses, not only because they are so versatile, but because dresses are the one item that always seems to flatter my body and fits well!

I bought this dress awhile back and I have worn it so many different ways. Recently, I decided to add a punch of color with the pink cardigan for work.

I finally found the perfect place for the style of necklaces I want: White House | Black Market!

Here are the few I’ve (sort of) narrowed it down to:

I’m really leaning toward the first one… These are the earrings I think I want:

Help me, please?

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your input! I with with my instinct (and lots of recommendations) and got the first one!
