Onward and Upward

Friends, I have really exciting news!

Tomorrow I’m starting a new day job as director of Social Media at Elasticity. This means new clients, new colleagues and much less travel! I’ll be in and around Saint Louis so much more. Bill can’t wait and I can’t either. As always, I’ll continue to try to keep some separation between what I do here and what I do there, but I couldn’t help but share the news with you!

Mint Shirt in Retro Home

The day I wore this outfit the day I went to my first interview. I was waiting to post it until I learned more but now I can share! :)

Lastly, how amazing is this retro home? My friend Oh, Julia Ann! has the most stunning retro apartment. The building itself is very industrial but the minute you walk in, you’re transported to somewhere mid-60s/mid-70s. It’s fantastic! Thanks, Julia, for taking these lovely photos!

Blast of warmth

Just before Thanksgiving we had a sudden warm spell here in Cincinnati so I decided to break out the short sleeves and bare legs! I kept it pretty Fall-inspired by mixing a few different shades of brown. This will probably be the last of my bare legs for a few months!

Night out with the girls

The other night I went out with just the girls and we had a lot of fun! It was actually warm so I decided to go with a mix of sleeveless and tights!

Lunch downtown

I met up with Bill for lunch downtown the other day and decided to wear something a little different than my usual outfit. (Did I tell you that Bill got the job he interviewed for??? Well, he did! He works downtown by the Saks… very swanky :) ) Anyway, we went to this great little Italian restaurant and just talked for about an hour. It was a super nice break in the day although it was a bit more expensive than my usual lunch meal!

A trip home!

I went home two weekends ago (yes, I’m falling way behind on daily photos) for a baby shower for my sister (eek!) and cousin. While it was definitely a long weekend of driving, it was totally worth it to see my sister’s ever-growing belly of fantasticness. Yes, I just made that term up. My college roommate actually made the trip down for the night so that really made the long drive even more worth it!

For the shower I went pretty casual because it was just at my parents’ house.

Sweater: one of my new purchases from NY & Company

Tank: Casual Corner

Jeans: JC Penney

Socks: ?

Boots: Steve Madden

The next day we went to a baptism service for my cousin’s baby and then hit the road. Along the way I got to see two of my friends, as we stopped for dinner near University of Illinois! I went with this outfit for the service and then put jeans on for the ride. Because we were only going for a short time, I intentionally planned my outfits to use the same pair of boots.

Another day in the office

Sometimes I feel like my workwear gets pretty boring. It’s either your typical business casual outfit or your average casual jeans get-up. I decided to mix it up one day by adding some fun accessories to take an average shift dress and make it a little more exciting! I actually like how this turned out a lot!

Dress: Target – a few years old

Tights: Target

Heels: JC Penney

Scarf: Street vendor in Paris
