Top Knot Power

Sometimes when I’m running late but still want to feel ready for the day ahead, I go with the top knot. I don’t have to fully blow dry my hair, but I still look put together. I’ve been trying out a few different versions. This is more on the ballerina side of the top knot as it’s more structured. Lately I’ve been going with more of a messy version but I still like this.

Putting Pixlr to the Test

I recently read about a photo editing site called Pixlr.

Basically, Pixlr is a free photo editing site that gives you almost all of the capabilities of Adobe Photoshop. While I have Photoshop, my poor computer has trouble running those types of programs at the same time as others so I try to limit their use only when absolutely necessary. I usually edit my photos (barely) in iPhoto and publish. However, given that I recently bought a new camera (Nikon D3100), I knew I needed to spend more time with my photos.

This is a photo from my old Nikon point and shoot but it was fun to try it out!

Easy summer looks

Now that we have sun and warm weather, I’ve been bringing out my warm weather items. While I’m definitely a skirt kind of girl, I love these bermudas for their comfort!

What do you like to wear when it warms up?

Ruffles and heels

Usually when I bring out the dress pants it’s because I need to get “dressed up” for work. However, this day I just felt like trading my jeans and dresses for something considered a little more formal. While I agree that this makes me look more business-y, I just don’t like dress pants!

How do you show you mean business?

Big days, big heels

We recently had a potential client in the office, which usually means I dress up more than the average day. I decided to start with this basic shift dress (rather boring, actually, but a great base) and add some great elements to make it more ‘me.’

Do you ever find yourself donning some of your biggest heels for big days? I just can’t let myself reach for flats when I’ve got an important meeting. Oh, the power heel!
