Price and Style

For those somewhat new to my site, you may not know where the name Style Every Day came from. When I was in college, I was surrounded by a lot of girls who looked to high priced items for fashion. They equated price tag with style, when in reality they were just buying $200 sweatpants. Sorry, not sorry Juicy Couture ala 2006.

I decided then and there that regardless of how much money I made or whether or not I could pay my rent, I would choose to show my style every day. No sweatpants. No t-shirts.

While I may spend a bit more on some special pieces now and then (hello, lovely Kate Spade watch!), I still spend a very small amount on clothes.

This outfit really reflects that. All of these items were bought from discount stores. It doesn’t get much better than that.

City Walk

I say this a lot but I love my city. Saint Louis has truly become our home over the last two years and I can’t imagine living anywhere else at this point in my life.

I love that I live in a walkable neighborhood. Situated in Fox Park, our home is just over a mile from Tower Grove Park, blocks from Lafayette Square and our grocery store and just a short five minute drive to church.

It makes it so convenient to come downtown anytime we like for work or for play.

I could walk around my city all day. You should try it!

Easy Summer Saturdays

There’s nothing better than a lazy Saturday. You wake up late, dress in easy items and spend the day with friends.

I recently spent a day with some of my favorite blogger gals and enjoyed mimosas at Lindsay’s house and then grabbed some Thai food in The Loop.

Drinking My Way Through Portland In The Rain

Downtown Portland, OR

Downtown Portland, OR

One of my favorite parts of Portland was all of the beer. Yes, beer.

There are so many fantastic breweries in and around downtown Portland, all well set up for sampling your way through their wares.

DSC_0243We went to Hair of the Dog (pictured above), Lucky Labrador (great for sitting around, drinking beer and playing board games all at once!) and Cascade Brewing (I surprisingly loved their sour beers).

Although the actual brewery is about two hours from Portland, we even stopped Rogue Brewery’s retail store. Rogue is one of my all-time favorite breweries so when we came across the store I had to buy a t-shirt.

Rogue Brewery PortlandThe only downside to wandering around the city and taking in the amazing streetscapes is the rain. Seriously. In April it rains like every day. An umbrella and light jacket are required if you plan to stay dry at all. Just do it.

Under The Bridge

If you follow my Instagram, you know I was recently in Portland, Oregon. I had an amazing time with two of my best friends that I’ve known since high school. I’m still getting through photos but can’t wait to share some of the adventures we had during our week there.

To start, one of the things I loved about the area was the beautiful architecture and landscaping.

They even think through how the bottom of their bridges will look!

This park is called Cathedral Park and is a quick stop on your way downtown to grab some stunning photos if you’re into that kind of thing. But to be honest, everywhere you look is a great photo opportunity!

Invested

It must be the change in the weather but lately I’m loving vests of all kinds. I can’t get enough of adding this little extra layer to most of outfits.

I’m finding it adds a touch more interest than a top alone without adding too much bulk as spring weather creeps in.

I found this little knit guy at TJ Maxx for a steal when we traveled to Cincinnati in March and I can’t stop wearing the tribal print with everything. As it continues to warm up, I’m looking forward to mix and matching vests with dresses and more!
