I’m continuing to detail our Austin trip today and can’t wait to show you my favorite day of the entire weekend! In case you missed the others, check out what I wore to the Austin bars and our day spent hiking in McKinney Falls State Park.
The Sunday of our trip started very lazy. We slept in after our full itinerary the day before and finally woke up to get some breakfast tacos at a local eatery. After getting dressed back at the hotel, we jumped in our rental car and drove to nearby Kyle, Texas where the wedding was going to be held.
The wedding location was beautiful! The Winfield Inn sits just outside of Kyle yet it feels like you’re in your own little world in the desert somewhere. Surrounded by open fields, the Inn was a beautiful backdrop to an even more stunning wedding.
Our friends Natasha and John are wonderful people and will make an excellent example of marriage for those that choose that path. They come from different ends of the US, met overseas in Spain and have made a lot of tough choices to be together throughout the years. Natasha’s family is Hindu and John’s is Catholic. I’m sure you’re wondering how the wedding worked. I definitely was!
The event started with a 30 minute Hindu ceremony. I definitely cried a few times throughout this ceremony although I tried to act like it was the wind!
The wedding program detailed each step of the ceremony including the significance behind each part. I loved how much meaning each moment had.
The traditional wedding clothing that each family member wore was stunning. However, the bride definitely stole the show!
Following that ceremony, there was a short break where guests were treated to lemonade and macaroons. Then, we were seated again for a 30 minutes Catholic ceremony. It was lovely to see each family take part in each other’s traditions and I was stunned by the quick changes the bride and groom made between ceremonies!
The rest of the evening was filled was delicious food (all of the food served at the reception was Indian!), drinks and dancing!
I’m super excited to show you the fun dress I wore to this wedding! This dress is from an online retailer called eShakti.com. The store features a ton of well-made dresses and clothing items, although I have to admit the dresses really steal the show. The dresses are really affordable for the quality (I expect this dress to last for years to come!) but the best part is the level of customization you can make to each dress or piece for only an additional $7.50!
For example, this dress could have become much shorter or much longer – I customized this dress to come above my knee instead of the standard tea length. I could have added sleeves of many different types or even change the neckline. In addition, you put in your custom measurements and it’s made to fit your body. No more trying to decide if you want a dress to fit in the bust or the waist – an issue I have a lot!
Can you tell how great the top of this dress fits? Like a glove!

I love this dress! The color is so pretty and the silhouette is so feminine! Truly perfect.
Thank you, Ashleigh! I’m definitely in love with the dress as well!
I loved the colour of the dress, hope you had a great time in Austin!
