Beauty Tip Tuesday: Borghese Fango Active Mud Review

In this week’s Beauty Tip Tuesday I’m checking out the Borghese Fango Active Mud for Face and Body. I’m honestly a pretty low key person when it comes to taking care of my face but there’s nothing I love more than a good body scrub so when Borghese contacted me about a review I just had to put this mud to the test!

When it arrived I started reading what was actually in this stuff. I ¬†mean, I love spa treatments but I’ve never done a mud treatment so I was curious to know if this really was mud, and if so, what made it better than any other mud? Here’s what I learned:

  • This Italian mud comes from the volcanic hills of Tuscany.
  • It also has avocado and sweet almond oils to help moisturize and soften your skin.

I decided to go for a facial after a warm shower one evening to put this stuff to the test. I have to be honest, when I squeezed some out of the bottle onto my fingers, I was a little concerned. It really did look like mud (duh, Rachael!).

I followed the instructions on the tube, that were pretty simple:

  1. Apply a thick layer avoiding the eyes and mouth.
  2. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Rinse off with a wet washcloth.
  4. Apply moisturizer.
I’m not going to lie, after about 5 minutes it started to tingle a lot and I got freaked out and took it off. However, once I put moisturizer on, my skin had never felt better. It was soooo soothing and smooth. The bottle recommends doing this about once a week and I can totally see me treating myself every Saturday or so.

Spill the beans! Have you used a mud treatment before? What did you think?

Disclosure: I received my tube of mud treatment for free from the manufacturer for review. All views expressed here are solely my opinion.
